Initially set on a grand New Zealand elopement at Roys Peak in Wanaka, the couple had to recalibrate their dreams due to the pandemic’s travel restrictions. Their vision was clear: a winter wonderland helicopter elopement atop Roys Peak surrounded by the stunning New Zealand landscape. However, as the pandemic’s impact deepened, Australia and New Zealand’s travel bans made this dream unattainable. Rather than postponing their elopement indefinitely, Sarah and Jono chose to elope in Tasmania, embracing the island's rugged beauty as the new backdrop for their vows. ## Elopement 2.0: Pumphouse Point, Lake St Clair The decision to elope at [Pumphouse Point](https://www.pumphousepoint.com.au/), a historic and secluded retreat on Lake St Clair, proved to be the perfect choice. Pumphouse Point has a rich history, originally constructed as part of Tasmania’s hydroelectric scheme. The pumphouse, perched at the end of a long jetty stretching out into the lake, is now a unique accommodation site, offering stunning views and an unparalleled connection to nature. Despite the logistical challenges of transporting fresh flowers to a remote national park during a lockdown, the arrangements were nothing short of perfection. The flowers complemented the natural surroundings, adding a touch of sophistication to the wild beauty of the [Tasmanian](https://elopementcollective.com/tasmania) landscape. After the elopement, Sarah and Jono couldn’t contain their happiness. In her feedback, Sarah expressed her overwhelming gratitude for the Elopement Collective and everyone who made their day possible. Her words were filled with joy and appreciation: "Oh my goodness Britt!!! Thank you so, so much <3 <3 We are so over the moon in love with these photos & videos - a few tears were definitely shed! Thank you again so much for our incredible elopement! We are just so happy we did it our way & couldn't have done it without you. We have told most of our family & friends now too so we are very happy for you to share our elopement as it suits."
