# Eloping in Queenstown

Queenstown, in Otago on New Zealand’s South Island, offers lakeside ceremonies at Moke Lake and mountain portraits overlooking Lake Wakatipu. Stay nearby in Fernhill, keep your celebration close to the water, or add a helicopter flight for a different view.

[Queenstown’s four seasons](https://www.queenstownnz.co.nz/plan/seasons-and-weather/) bring long summer days, golden autumn colour, snowy winter mountains and fresh spring growth. Summer runs December–February; winter is June–August.
